The things that kids say

I know its a bit of a cliche but son 2 whose 4 years old comes out with the best lines at the moment. A recent one was: "When I'm rich, I'm going to be a soldier and own a tank" to which his Dad replied - "so you're going to be a dictator?". Another one was "Is the second worst football player in the world the Queen?"

It makes me smile to come home to my gorgeous boys after work and hear their funny comments. Since having children I haven't laughed so much, I never realised how hilarious children can be and its not just mine, their friends, next door neighbour kids, they all make me laugh. The way they make such innocent comments without cynicism and find slapstick humour so funny - I love it.

So cute. When my youngest was in his early reception class I used to help out. One day after the teacher explained what was going to happen that day she asked the kids if they had any questions...my son asked 'Yes why do birds not get electricuted on the phone lines?'

I will never forget that :)

I think you hit the nail on the head. Kids don't have the internal voice we have as adults that censors our words and thoughts. Lovely ost

Everyday my boys say funny or odd things. Mum in meltdown - love that your son asked a question he wanted to ask. I often want to do that at work when I get asked if I have any questions - yes, why do my children never put their shoes on when asked????

aren't kids just brilliant? they ask the really daft silly questions that no one else dare! but sometimes that means that they ask really difficult ones too :(
